'Motel Destino' Review: A Sweaty, Sexy Neo-Noir Full of Queer Subtext

Motel Destino is immediately striking. It isn’t just the gorgeous locations and shots, with their oversaturated colors and lighting. It's also the way Karim Aïnouz’s film draws you into its classical crime trappings. It’s the very definition of a sun-soaked and neon-lit neo-noir, a tale of a brash man trying to lie low in the wake of a crime gone wrong only to find himself in deeper danger than before.
