'Ne Zha 2' Outgrossed 'Inside Out 2' Before the US Even Heard of It
Often, when we think about some of the highest-grossing movies of all time, franchises like the MCU, Avatar, and Star Wars likely spring to mind, as do powerhouse studios like Disney and Pixar, but there's one dark horse steadily smashing box office records and climbing the ranks in the prestigious list: the Chinese animated fantasy Ne Zha 2. Based on the mythological character of the same name, the film serves as the sequel to the 2019 original hit and has already grossed more than $2.2 billion worldwide, thus becoming the highest-grossing animated film globally and fifth highest overall.
