‘Peep Show’ stars reunite in first look at new sketch show, ‘Mitchell And Webb Are Not Helping’

Channel 4 have shared a first look at David Mitchell and Robert Webb’s new sketch show, Mitchell And Webb Are Not Helping.
The show will hit screens in September, with the six-part season reuniting Mitchell and Webb on screen for the first time since 2017’s Back, and 12 years after the end of Peep Show.
Produced by That Mitchell & Webb Company in association with Big Talk Studios (Friday Night Dinner), the show comes directed by their longtime collaborator Gareth Edwards, marking the comedy legends’ biggest return to sketch comedy since That Mitchell & Webb Look ended over a decade ago.
Joining them will be up-and-coming performers Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts, Taskmaster), Lara Ricote (Live at the Apollo), Stevie Martin (Starstruck), and Krystal Evans (Scot Squad), alongside a multigenerational mix of established and emerging writers.
The preview clip sees a particularly flustered Mitchell as a passenger enduring the perils of airport security, with fans somewhat divided over the humour.

While most said they “couldn’t wait” to see the more of the show, others said they hoped “this isn’t the best of the lot”.
When news of the series first emerged, Mitchell and Webb shared a statement about the state of sketch comedy, saying: “When Channel 4 asked us to do another sketch show we were startled, bemused and available.
“It’s a perilous time for the industry and so it’s our hope that relaunching the trickiest genre of comedy is a brilliant piece of counter intuitive commissioning…
It continued, by joking: “We’re confident that unlike Roger Moore with his shoe on the bonnet of a car teetering on the edge of a cliff in For Your Eyes Only [REPLACE WITH 21ST CENTURY REFERENCE?] we’re not about to give British TV comedy a final lethal nudge into the abyss.”
Elsewhere, last October it was revealed that Back would be getting a remake for American television.
