Roger Ebert Said 'Highlander II' Is "Almost Awesome in Its Badness"

Russell Mulcahy's 1986 action-adventure movie Highlander was a commercial failure but eventually became a cult classic. The story about immortal 16th-century swordsmen fighting to be the last one standing gained enough of a following to warrant a second installment in 1991 — Highlander II: The Quickening. Unfortunately, the sequel was a disaster in nearly every aspect and is widely considered one of the worst movies ever made. Mulcahy, who was sidelined from the project by the film's investors, was reportedly so disappointed in the final result that he couldn't even sit through a screening.
