Squid Game fans are raging after Netflix spoils the final season

Spoilers for Squid Game season three ahead!
Fans have reacted angrily to a plot point from Squid Game Season three being posted on the Netflix X (Twitter) account.
The third and final season of the South Korean drama debuted on Friday but the streamer’s social media account has already been posting spoilers about the show. One which remains on the account is the return of Kang Sae-byeok, player 067, who was eliminated in season one but revealed to be alive.
The appearance was a surprise twist for the show, and fans have felt that the reveal came too early. “WAIT WHAT” exclaimed one, with another adding “Now you fucking spoiled it”, adding a crying emoji.

It’s the second incident where a major surprise from the season has been spoiled via the Netflix social media accounts. Gamesradar reported that, just three days after release, a picture of Cate Blanchett’s cameo was posted. The Oscar winner appears in the final episode as a recruiter, hinting at an American version of the game. The tweet has since been taken down.
Marvel received similar criticism for changing the title of Thunderbolts* to The New Avengers, revealing the final twist in the movie less than a week after release. Fans online complained that the studio “didn’t even bother giving many people a chance to see the movie” before hinting at such a major reveal.
Squid Game season three is now available on Netflix. Recently, the show’s creator Hwang Dong-hyuk discussed the possibility of there being a prequel series in the future, as well as stating that he felt the villainous VIPs in the show “resemble Elon Musk”.
