Star Wars is one of the most successful franchises and has spawned what feels like endless movies, shows, games, and books. Of course, this means that fans make it known when something isn't up to their standards. Opinions among fans tend to vary, but the consensus among many is that Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menaceis the most hated. The first of three prequels written and directed by George Lucas, The Phantom Menace is almost universally disliked. However, the hatred of the fanbase is somewhat misguided.
