'The Toxic Avenger' Review: Summer's Most Entertaining Superhero Movie
Forget The Fantastic Four and Superman. The Toxic Avenger is the summer's most entertaining superhero film, a gnarly and clever reboot that will have audiences cheering between fits of raucous laughter. Peter Dinklage leads an all-star supporting cast that makes this fifth iteration of the Troma Entertainment classic an absolute winner. Great production design, delightfully gruesome practical effects and a well-written script surpass every expectation. The Toxic Avenger embraces its silly subject matter with unrepentant gusto and surprisingly addresses critical modern themes. But it's also a fun B-movie that never forgets its roots while rocking to a literally face-melting soundtrack.
