Timothée Chalamet reportedly rumoured for secret Bob Dylan set at Glastonbury 2025

A Complete Unknown

Timothée Chalamet has been rumoured to make a secret appearance at Glastonbury 2025.

The speculation comes after the actor recently took on the role of iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan for the critically acclaimed biopic A Complete Unknown. Earning a BAFTA nod and eight Oscar nominations, the film saw Chalamet perform some of Dylan’s biggest hits himself, rather than mime them.

Now, according to a report from The Sun, the actor is set to make a surprise appearance at the 2025 edition of Glastonbury to keep the Bob Dylan celebrations coming.

Although nothing has been confirmed by the festival nor Chalamet about the rumoured set, the outlet claims that the actor is planning on performing a brief set with the Bob Dylan tribute group Not Completely Unknown on the Saturday (June 28). They are allegedly going to be performing on the Acoustic Stage, which only has space for a few thousand people compared to the 200,000-capacity Pyramid Stage.

If the appearance at Glasto 2025 were to materialise, it would follow on from Chalamet delivering a live performance on Saturday Night Live earlier this year, which saw him play a trio of the singer’s tracks.

While on the US show, he fronted a full-band version of ‘Outlaw Blues’ from 1965’s classic album ‘Bringing It All Back Home’. That then transitioned into ‘Three Angels’ from 1970’s ‘New Morning’, for which James Blake joined on piano. Later in the show, he returned to the stage for an acoustic version of ‘Tomorrow Is A Long Time’ – a track first included on 1971’s ‘Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits Vol. II’.

Speaking about the importance of committing himself to the character, Chalamet told NME in January that he was willing to work as long as possible to get the character and musical performances right in the biopic.

“I had the time to put the 10,000 hours in, which in a three-month, four-month period you really can’t… There wasn’t a deadline on it,” he said. “I wasn’t learning for anyone else. I was learning for myself.”

NME gave the film a four-star review, with Alex Flood writing: “The most important (and often trickiest) job of any music movie is to get the music right. And this nails that. If you’re a Bob newbie, you’ll leave the cinema ready to dive into his back catalogue. If you’re already a fan, the next few weeks will be spent making playlists of lesser-known B-sides or reading the lore around a scene you weren’t familiar with. And that’s why it was a good idea to make this film – a mad idea, but a good one.”

If Chalamet were to perform at Glastonbury this summer, he would join an already packed line-up. Earlier this year, the first line-up poster revealed that The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo would be joining Neil Young in headlining the Pyramid Stage. It was previously shared that Rod Stewart will take on the coveted Legend Slot on Sunday.

Other big names across the weekend include Biffy Clyro, The Maccabees, Lucy Dacus, Father John Misty, RAYE, Wolf Alice, The Prodigy, Doechii, St. Vincent, Deftones, Scissor Sisters, The Libertines, Wet Leg, Weezer, AJ Tracey, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Future Islands, JADE, TV On The Radio, Self Esteem, CMAT, Blossoms, Jorja Smith and Turnstile.
