Guns N’ Roses debuted a new Thin Lizzy cover during a live show in Japan earlier this week. Watch the footage below.

The band played at the K-Arena Yokohama on Monday (May 5), marking the second date on their current tour. Axl Rose and co. had started the trek in South Korea last week with new drummer Isaac Carpenter.

At their latest gig, Guns N’ Roses treated the crowd to a rendition of Thin Lizzy’s 1983 song ‘Thunder And Lightning’ from the latter’s 12th and final studio album of the same name. The cover saw bassist Duff McKagan take on lead vocals.

Elsewhere in the set, there were tour debuts for ‘You Could Be Mine’, ‘Don’t Cry’, ‘Hard Skool’, ‘Absurd’ and ‘Madagascar’ (per Setlist.FM).

Additionally, Guns N’ Roses brought out covers of Velvet Revolver, Wings, Bob Dylan and Jimmy Webb.

Last week’s tour opener marked Guns N’ Roses’ first live concert since November 2023, and their first since they parted ways “amicably” with drummer Frank Ferrer and replaced him with AWOLNATION’s Isaac Carpenter.

The current stint was announced late last year, with further dates set to follow across Europe and the Middle East this summer. See the full list of shows here and find any remaining tickets here.

Guns N’ Roses have also been added to the stacked line-up for Black Sabbath’s final-ever concert, which takes place at Villa Park in Birmingham on Saturday July 5.

In other news, GnR’s former manager Alan Niven has claimed that Axl Rose now takes 50 per cent of the band’s income and “wants to be in control of everything”.
