Gen V season two

The first full trailer for season two of Gen V has arrived, and it teases plenty of crossovers with The Boys. Check it out below.

A first look at the second season of The Boys‘ spin-off arrived last month, when a teaser trailer first dropped. It was then confirmed that the first three episodes will premiere on Prime Video on September 17, and subsequent episodes will arrive weekly until the season finale on October 22.

Now, the first full trailer for season two has been shared at a Comic-Con panel on Friday (July 25), and it features plenty nods to the original series.

The season stars Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity.

In the new clip, Moreau is seen reluctantly agreeing to return to Godolkin University after January tracks her down and insists.

We also see the aftermath of Homelander taking over America, and the impact that it is having on the college campus. Based on the trailer, Hamish Linklater’s dean Cipher is executing his plan to make students at Godolkin more powerful than ever with a new curriculum, but an ulterior motive seems to be at play.

By the looks of it, season two is going to centre around Moreau trying to put a stop to it.

Other notable moments in the trailer include a swift appearance Dr. Thomas Godolkin, the founder and namesake of the university. He will be played by Ethan Slater.

Speaking to the audience at Comic-Con, showrunner Michele Fazekas said that both The Boys and Gen V storylines are intertwined. “The shows talk to each other. So season four of The Boys sets up season two of Gen V. So now, Homelander has taken over America,” she said (as per Deadline).

“Now, we get to see what that looks like — what that looks like [for] the country, what that looks like at the school, and then what the resistance is going to start looking like.”

In the teaser trailer shared last month, actor Chance Perdomo’s absence in season two was addressed, and will now play into a larger storyline. Perdomo played Andre in season one, and was due to return for season two before he tragically died in a motorcycle crash in March 2024. He was aged 27.

After his death, Prime Video confirmed that they would not be recasting his role, and were instead going to “recraft” its storyline to navigate his passing.

In the clip, Andre’s father, Polarity, is seen getting increasingly frustrated over his son’s suspicious disappearance, and demands that dean Cipher reveal what “really happened” to him.

The first season of Gen V was given a four-star review from NME, which read: “Gen V is confidently its own thing. It’s comfortable sitting in the shadow of The Boys for the time being and while the gory humour might feel familiar, this smart, sleek spin-off is never less than exciting.”
