Matthew Goode in Dept Q

Between its detective noir premise and striking lead performance, Dept. Q looks set to be another hit series for Netflix.

Created by Scott Frank (The Queen’s Gambit, Godless), the crime thriller follows troubled detective Carl Morck as he gradually recruits misfit officers for his new cold case unit within a basement office space in Edinburgh.

Alongside Matthew Goode in the lead role, the show’s cast includes Chloe Pirrie, Alexej Manvelov, Kelly Macdonald, and Leah Byrne.

The show is based on the Department Q novels by Jussi Adler-Olsen, which were originally adapted into a series of Danish films.

Who composed the soundtrack for Dept. Q?

The show’s score is by Carlos Rafael Rivera, who previously collaborated with creator Scott Frank on The Queen’s Gambit and Godless. His other credits include A Walk Among The Tombstones and acclaimed series Hacks.
