Shooting this 1996 Disaster Film Was Grueling According Helen Hunt

In 1996, director Jan de Bont delivered a white-knuckle ride titled Twister. The film, produced by Steven Spielberg under the Amblin Entertainment umbrella, was a huge hit, grossing nearly $500 million and becoming one of the most successful movies of that year. Disaster films of this nature were not as common anymore, as the popularity of the genre had waned in the '80s, but Twister made it cool again to destroy stuff, albeit with a little help from CGI. However, as the star of the film,Helen Hunt, has said, it wasn't all created by a computer. Making Twister was a unique and brutal experience that subjected the cast to grueling conditions.
