Why Christopher Reeve Will Always Be the Best Superman
When an unknown Christopher Reeve was cast to play Superman in the eponymous 1978 film, Warner Bros. felt the need to hedge their financial risk by surrounding him with heavyweight stars Gene Hackman and Marlon Brando. However, the blockbuster success of Superman proved that Reeve was entirely capable of carrying the film series on his broad shoulders.
