Doechii has announced her first tour – check out all the details below.

The Florida rapper played at Chicago’s Lollapalooza yesterday (August 2), where she wrapped up her set by announcing her first-ever tour.

After exiting the stage, a video played on the screen of Doechii leaving the festival in a car, which was later revealed to have the words “Doechii tour” written on it.

The tour, dubbed ‘Live From The Swamp’, has a website which includes a clock counting down to 3pm on Monday BST.

Fans are also able to RSVP here with their phone number, ahead of dates and venues being revealed.

During her set, she also welcomed former City Girls member JT on stage to perform ‘Alter Ego’. The surprise cameo was unveiled when JT was revealed to be hiding behind multiple umbrellas held by Doechii’s dancers.

The moment was a nod to viral clips of Doechii backstage at the Met Gala demanding more umbrellas to hide her outfit, which led to backlash around the treatment of staff.

She later responded to the controversy, saying: “God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas.”

Doechii was one of the most talked-about performers at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, with NME giving her set a four-star review which read: “This may not be the typical Glastonbury set full to the brim with special guests but in just 45 minutes, the Tampa star showcases what she does best and why she’s one of rap’s brightest lights. Consider us schooled.”

This followed the rapper’s widely praised speech at the BET Awards, where she used her Best Female Hip-hop artist win to criticise the Trump administration’s use of military force against protestors opposing his immigration raids.

“I want you all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us,” she said. “What type of government is that?”

She added: “I feel like it’s my responsibility as an artist to use this moment to speak up for all oppressed people. For Black people, for Latino people, for trans people, for the people of Gaza. We all deserve to live in hope and not fear. I hope we stand together.”
