Sabrina Carpenter has reacted to Taylor Swift revealing their upcoming collab on new album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’.

Earlier this week, Swift announced her highly anticipated 12th studio album and also confirmed the record’s release date, shared its tracklist and announced the producers she worked alongside.

Fellow pop singer Carpenter is notably the only feature on the record, and will team up with Swift on the title track, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’. After the full tracklist was revealed, the ‘Manchild’ singer took to social media to share her excitement about the song.

She took to Instagram stories to share a picture of the back cover of the album, writing: “THE LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL OCTOBER 3rd 🧡 I know someone who’s freaking out and it’s me.”

She went on to share another promo photo Swift had shared from her album announcement, poised in full showgirl glam, with Carpenter joking: “Must also point out that.”

The tracklist for Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ is:

01. ‘The Fate of Ophelia’
02. ‘Elizabeth Taylor’
03. ‘Opalite’
04. ‘Father Figure’
05. ‘Eldest Daughter’
06. ‘Ruin the Friendship’
07. ‘Actually Romantic’
08. ‘Wi$h Li$t’
09. ‘Wood’
10. ‘Cancelled!’
11. ‘Honey’
12. ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ ft. Sabrina Carpenter

Back in 2024, Swift hailed Carpenter – who opened for her earlier on the ‘Eras Tour’, and joined her onstage as a surprise guest in New Orleans – the “the pop princess of our dreams” while sharing images of the two together on stage.

Teaming up for the ‘surprise songs’ segment, they performed an acoustic mash-up of Carpenter’s hits ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please Please Please’, and Swift’s vault track ‘Is It Over Now?’ from ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’.

Previously reflecting on being a support act at the ‘Eras Tour’, Carpenter had called it “a whirlwind” experience, and also revealed the advice the ‘Midnights’ singer had shared with her on handling fame and pressure in the spotlight.

Expressing her gratitude to Swift, Carpenter wrote: “The most thank you’s I’ve ever thank you’d to Taylor.

“I feel so lucky to witness the magic that is you and this tour. There is truly no one like you and there never will be! I love you with all my heart and I will cherish this Taybrina era (and all the eras) till the end of time.”

Details surrounding ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ were revealed on Swift’s first-ever appearance on the New Heights podcast, where she shared the record will be about her life behind the scenes of her record-breaking Eras Tour.

“What was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant. It just comes from like the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life,” she explained.

Swift also shared that the upcoming record will differ from her previous album – 2024’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ – in that it will not come with additional tracks.

In April last year, Swift released ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ as a 16-track record, only to surprise-release an extended version just hours after the original album dropped. She would later describe ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ as a double album in a letter to fans – it spanned a total of 31 songs.

Swift has since unveiled four limited-edition deluxe variations of ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ on CD – all of which contain special artwork, booklets, photocards and more. The tracklisting remains unchanged at only 12 songs. You can check out all four variations and place your orders here.
