It looks like Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox users could be getting more exclusive PlayStation games in the near future.

Last year, Xbox announced it would be releasing previously exclusive titles such as Hi-Fi Rush and Sea Of Thieves on rival consoles. The move was described by Xbox boss Phil Spencer as an “experiment” but it seems to have been a success – Indiana Jones And The Great Circle was made available for PlayStation users at the start of the year and later this month, Gears Of War is finally making the leap.

PlayStation has been slow to reciprocate though. Earlier this year, it was announced that the first PlayStation studios title to be released on Xbox would be Helldivers 2, with the hit shooter launching for Xbox later this year. Now it looks like the company wants to ramp up the process.

PlayStation is currently hiring a new Senior Director Of Multiplatform & Account Management. According to the job listing, the lucky candidate will “play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the global commercial strategy for PlayStation Studios software titles across all digital platforms beyond PlayStation hardware, including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Nintendo and mobile.”

The role will also ensure “cross-functional alignment” with the Senior Director Of Multiplatform & Account Management leading a “high-performing team focused on multiplatform expansion, mid-range commercial planning, and platform partner management.”

“If you told someone five years ago that PlayStation and Xbox would stop having exclusives, they’d look at you like you’re crazy,” one fan wrote following the news. “Finally the end of petty exclusivity. Gamers win as a whole,” added another.

The same day that Helldivers 2 launches on Xbox, Gears Of War will make its PlayStation debut with the Reloaded remaster. That will be followed by Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 in August, and Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds 2 in October. However, according to the community manager of the Discord group, Helldivers 2 is “definitely not” coming to Game Pass and there are “no plans” for that to change in the future.

It’s also rumoured that a Nintendo Direct will take place this week and focus on third-party titles coming to the Switch 2.

In other news, it’s been reported that Death Stranding 2: On The Beach can be used to bypass the UK government’s new age verification system introduced as part of the Online Safety Act.
