Jeremy Renner Turned Down MCU Return for 'Hawkeye' Season 2 After Being Offered Half Pay
Jeremy Renner has portrayed Clint Barton/Hawkeye in seven projects related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his last appearance as the character was in the Disney+ miniseries Hawkeye, which premiered in 2021. Since then, Renner has showcased that he is much stronger than any superhero following his miraculous recovery from a snowplow accident at the top of 2023, which nearly cost him his life. Following the life-changing incident, Renner steadily got back to work on other projects but has still been absent from the MCU. As it turns out, the actor was offered a return as Clint Barton for another season of Hawkeye, but his offer to reprise the role was insulting at best.
