'Thunderbolts*' Is the "Best" Example of the MCU's Future, States Disney CEO Bob Iger
Following the release of Captain America: Brave New World, it appeared that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was still stuck in a place of mediocrity. While the film didn't crash and burn financially, the movie was a bust with most critics, scoring 48% on Rotten Tomatoes. As the release date for Thunderbolts* loomed, pressure was put on the film to right the ship, and thankfully, it did just that. Reviews were some of the best received in this era of the MCU, and its $74.3 million opening weekend indicates a solid box office run. One person very pleased with the performance of Thunderbolts* is Disney CEO Bob Iger, who suggests that the movie is the "first and best" example of the release strategy for the MCU moving forward.
